Written and Directed by Jacob Gentry/Pop Films. Based on the cult novel “The Last Goodbye From Way Down Here” by Patrick Kaye about five young people in Atlanta trying to make a connection amidst the fast paced pop-culture media driven world that envelops them.
Last Goodbye is about the overwhelming desire for something to believe in. A young television star confronts her family and her past. Faye Dunaway (Network), A true independent success story, Jacob came to LAB 601 with very little post money. The LAB digitized all of his footage to a firewire drive, allowing him to edit on his own time, in his production office. He returned the media to LAB 601 for a final colour correct, sound design and finish that really took the film to the next level. Last Goodbye premiered at the 2004 Tribeca film festival.
